Dr. Mark Palit grew up in
Champaign
Illinois
; he attended the
University
of
Illinois
at
Champaign
for his undergraduate and graduate studies, the University of
Illinois College of Medicine located in
Chicago
where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree.
He then went on to complete an
Internship in General Surgery at
Lenox-Hill
Hospital
in
New York
,
New York
and his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at
Bronx-Lebanon
Hospital
Center
in
Bronx
,
New York
.
To finish his training Dr. Palit
completed a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery at The San
Francisco Spine Institute and
Seton
Medical
Center
located in
Daly City
,
California
.
After completing his training, Dr.
Palit practiced as a Spine Orthopaedic Surgeon, in
Fort Dodge
,
Iowa
for 9 years.
In March of 2006 Dr. Palit joined
Benton Franklin Orthopedic Associates, P.L.L.C. and is currently
the only Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon in the area.
Dr. Palit’s personal interests
include bicycling, running, basketball, horseback riding, reading,
world history, and foreign languages.
His professional interests include disorders of the spine
and spinal surgery as well as some general orthopedics.
