Melanie Hanson, MPT

Melanie Hanson, MPT - Kennewick, Pasco, WA

Melanie received her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana in 2003, after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Melanie joined Benton Franklin Physical Therapy in 2006 and enjoys working with people with a variety of orthopedic conditions.

In her free time, she enjoys cycling, the outdoors and watching hockey.

Rodney Kump, DPT

Rodney Kump, DPT - Kennewick, Pasco, WA

Rod graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. He then attended Creighton University and graduated in 1998 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Rod joined Benton Franklin Orthopedic Associates in 2002. He enjoys all areas of orthopedic physical therapy with a special interest in sports medicine. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and belongs to Orthopedic and Sports sections.

Rod lives in Kennewick with his wife, Heidi, and his daughters, Ashley, Emily, Erin and Sarah. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, basketball and reading.

Jay West MPT, OCS

Jay West MPT, OCS - Kennewick, Pasco, WA

Jay attended Eastern Washington University, where he obtained both his undergraduate degree in sports medicine/athletic training and his master's degree in physical therapy. He has been with Benton Franklin Physical Therapy since 2003 and has enjoyed working in orthopedics. He particularly enjoys working with knee and shoulder injuries and rehabilitating athletes but enjoys all aspects of orthopedic physical therapy. In 2009, Jay became certified as an Orthopedic Specialist in physical therapy.

Jay’s personal interests, outside of physical therapy, lie in spending time with his family. In addition, he enjoys football, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, skiing and snowboarding as well as many other athletic and sports-related activities.

Darwin Bell, OTR/L

Darwin Bell, OTR/L Darwin received his Master of Occupational Therapist degree from Eastern Washington University in 2012, after completing his undergraduate degree at Washington State University. He is board certified with the National Board of Occupational Therapy and a certified wound specialist. He joined Benton Franklin Physical Therapy in 2018 and has expertise working with orthopedic surgical recovery, wound care, lymphedema, and various other general Occupational Therapy areas.

In his free time, he enjoys musical performances, hiking, nature exploration, bicycling, electronics, and spending time with family.

Joss Vanderhoof, PTA

Joss Vanderhoof, PTA Joss completed her Physical Therapist Assistant program at Clarkson College in Nebraska. She moved to Washington State and joined Benton Franklin Physical Therapy in 2018. She enjoys physical therapy because of the broad scope of practice that affords the opportunity to help restore patients through many techniques, returning more functional and pain free movement. Her biggest hope is to give her patients confidence, that they can return to their lives, better than ever, post-surgery or injury.

Being new to the area, Joss is looking forward to developing relationships in the Tri-Cities community. The thing she enjoys most is learning.
